Mission StatementEcclesia Ministries has been actively engaged in daily street ministry in Boston since 1994, and has provided outdoor Sunday worship as common cathedral since 1996. Ecclesia Ministries/common cathedral joins housed and unhoused people in worship, pastoral care, teaching, mission, study, recovery, and other aspects of community. By offering caring, predictable communities that come together through common activities, Ecclesia Ministries/common cathedral seeks to end the isolation experienced by people living in shelters and on the street. The relationships that are forged provide a foundation of spiritual comfort and trust and provide room for meaningful change. Ecclesia Ministries/common cathedral also serves as a bridge between the church outside and the church inside with teaching and preaching by our ministers at area churches, with our overnight CityReach program in Boston for adults and youth in the New England area, and with our training and support for those who wish to minister with us as volunteers on Sundays, distributing clothes on Mondays, as pastoral care visitors, and through our various programs. Since 2002 The Rev. Dr. Deborah W. Little, Ecclesia Ministries' founding director, has been sharing the common cathedral model of outdoor church, street ministry and programs with others around this country and in Liverpool, England.
